About Uxbridge
Uxbridge is the main town centre of the London Borough of Hillingdon, known for shopping, transport links, university life, canalside walks, offices and a strong local economy. Located in far West London, close to Buckinghamshire, Denham, Ickenham and Hillingdon, it combines the convenience of a large suburban centre with access to countryside and waterways. The town centre offers a wide range of shops, cafés, restaurants, pubs, gyms, supermarkets and everyday services. The Pavilions and The Chimes shopping centres form the commercial heart of the area, while the surrounding streets provide a mix of independent businesses, leisure venues and civic facilities. Brunel University London, located nearby, brings a strong student presence and adds to the area’s educational identity. Uxbridge station is the western terminus for branches of the Metropolitan and Piccadilly lines, giving direct access to central London and surrounding areas. The Grand Union Canal runs close to the town, providing walking and cycling routes toward Cowley, Denham and beyond. Uxbridge is practical, lively and well connected. It is ideal for shopping, commuting, student life, canalside walks and exploring the western edge of Greater London.
