Hounslow is a West London borough running along the north side of the Thames from Chiswick in the east to the Heathrow perimeter in the west. It spans a wide range — from the affluent riverside neighbourhood of Strand-on-the-Green and the independent streets of Chiswick to the more economically diverse areas of Hounslow town centre, Feltham, and Heston. This diversity makes it one of the more heterogeneous boroughs in West London. Transport links are solid throughout. The District line serves Chiswick Park, Gunnersbury, Kew Gardens, and Richmond, with connections to central London in 25 to 35 minutes. The Piccadilly line runs through Hounslow East, Hounslow Central, and Hounslow West, giving direct access to Heathrow terminals and journey times to Piccadilly Circus of approximately 35 to 40 minutes. The Elizabeth line is accessible at Hayes & Harlington and Southall in the adjacent Hillingdon and Ealing boroughs. Rental values vary sharply. Chiswick remains one of West London's premium addresses — one-bedroom flats typically rent for £1,900 to £2,400. Brentford and Isleworth offer lower rates of £1,500 to £1,900 with improving amenity following regeneration around Brentford's waterfront. Feltham and Heston are considerably more affordable, with one-bedroom flats often between £1,100 and £1,400. Brentford's waterfront has been significantly regenerated, with the Ballymore development around the docks adding residential, hotel, and commercial space, and the Brentford FC Community Stadium — one of London's newest football grounds — creating a new focal point for the town. Kew Gardens, one of London's great attractions, sits on the borough's eastern edge. The Thames Path and Grand Union Canal towpath provide recreational walking and cycling routes through the borough, and Richmond Park is within easy reach from the eastern neighbourhoods.
